The Mount Kilimanjaro Challenge in Tanzania will take place from 3^rd – 12^th August 2026. The project is organized by Friends of Karansi in collaboration with Kiriwe Travel and Trekking Safaris Ltd. FRIENDS OF KARANSI is registered in Tanzania under the Act 2002, NGO/R/1071.

The mission of Friends of Karansi is to help children from the poor communities to reach the highest possible standard of life by eradicating poverty, diseases and ignorance through better education by raising the young generation with God fearing spirit.

WHY TANZANIA?

Welcome to the first Mount Kilimanjaro Challenge!

As climbers, we meet the poorest of the poor. In addition to the sporting challenge, visits to schools’ centers, fun with the children, fellowship with Christians and local communities are on the program. The Mount Kilimanjaro Challenge in Tanzania will be a special event for the children, their parents, the communities and the Friends of Karansi employees. With your participation set a sign – for waves of justice.

THE CLIMBING OF KILIMANJARO

The highest mountain in Africa rises majestically over the vast savannah of Tanzania at 5895 meters above sea ​​level. Kilimanjaro, a volcano now extinct. In 6 days, 62km and a difference in altitude of 4255, we climb the roof of Africa on the Machame route. Machame is probably the most beautiful route up Kilimanjaro. For this route you don’t need any mountain climbing skills, but you must be fit. Porters will carry all your personal items, equipment and supplies and a cook prepares your delicious meal.

As a tent experience, Machame route (also known as the Whisky – route) is better cited to more adventurous hikes who are rewarded with fantastic scenic wonders and great panoramas. From late afternoon sunsets at the Shira to the misty of revelations of Kibo at the great Barranco wall. A photographer’s delight

An added benefit to this camping route is the most valuable commodity on the mountain acclimatization.

Donation goal: To collect USD 5000 for the work of Friends of Karansi. Each sponsorship brokered counts as USD 1,000 on your donation barometer.

Failure to achieve this goal is not an exclusion criterion. Nevertheless, it is a deliberately set honorary mark to evoke exceptional commitment, to leave the comfort zone and, last but not least, to justify the effort of the entire project. We will provide the donation link for you to share with friends, family, companies who will willing to support you.

Insurance is the responsibility of the participant. We strongly recommend travel insurance. This includes, among other things, cancellation protection, search and rescue operations, luggage insurance, medical and hospital costs abroad. Steppe Dogs Adventures Ltd do NOT assume any corresponding costs / resp. reject liability claims.

Independent organization of the international flight to and from Tanzania back home, visa, vaccinations / prophylaxis, hiking equipment Kilimanjaro ascent.

PARTICIPATION FEE

The participation fee of USD 3445 is a guide price for the Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing. We recommend the participants to book their international flight as the prices are fluctuating significantly. Detailed itinerary is attached.
